[Users] Recommended OS for stability and centralized NFS storage?

I've had some challenges getting oVirt running without errors on CentOS 6.4 64-bit, and some NIC-driver-loading problems with the Fedora build of the oVirt node (ovirt-node-iso-3.0.1-1.0.2.vdsm.fc19 vs. igb driver + Intel I340-T4). I'm trying to find the right balance of stability and hardware support. I mentioned NFS in the title because I don't need GlusterFS features. The CentOS-compatible repository at ovirt.org looks like it's stopped at oVirt 3.0.x, while Fedora and RHEL are supported for 3.3. In my initial engine and node builds, I tried mixing FC, RH and Cent repositories, but that seems like a clearly bad idea, and I'm starting over. I could probably get CentOS + oVirt 3.0.x running, but I would lose several months of oVirt revisions/features/bug-fixes. RHEL seems logical, but I don't have the budget for licenses. Any suggestions? DS aka platformagnostic

Hello, I am evaluating ovirt as a developer virtualization solution and a virtualizer for fast provisioning of software in SOHO market (I send entire vms preconfigured) I use ovirt on centos6 with glusterfs. So I have these questions that I have not found the reply in forums: - In my lab I use spice protocol in a gigabit ethernet, and I use an old thinkpad as terminal, so I would like to disable compression because spice rendering is slow; - I have created some snapshots but I cannot see them in the snapshot list, what do I need to check? I would like to export/import snapshot for backups and to provision them: can you tell me best way to automatize it? Thanks in advance for help! Mario

Like I said, Windows XP kept crashing a lot (reproducible crash on shutdown and more random crashes during normal operation) with the VirtIO drivers. I'm not sure if it was network or disk, but it didn't work well, that's for sure. With the IDE/RTL8139 combination, XP has been running stable for a few weeks now. Regards, Martijn.

VM migrations are failing with latest master engine and vdsm logs attached from engine and both hosts Hosts are EL 6.4 with latest master VDSM Additionally the hosts seem to lose connection with their storage domains (new behavior), are offline then recovered (even though not is physically wrong). - DHC

[Users] Exports : many success, one failure

Hi, I was NFS-exporting many VMs from a 3.1 (iscsi) to a 3.3 (iscsi) oVirt and it was running fine. On a linux VM with 2 disks, I see the export process smoothly filling up the NFS tree. When its seems to reach the data expected size, the web gui tells me the export has failed.
