The oVirt Project is pleased to announce the availability of the Second Release Candidate of oVirt 4.0.0 for testing, as of June 10th, 2016 This is pre-release software. Please take a look at our community page[1] to know how to ask questions and interact with developers and users. All issues or bugs should be reported via oVirt Bugzilla[2]. This pre-release should not to be used in production. Exception running current master

Hi, I am having this exception happen every time the engine tries to refresh some data from a host (so really often). It started happening a couple of days ago. Failing DAO tests

Hi we have failing DAO tests becaus of: https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/56192/ Seems like the cluster can't be saved anymore: testSave(org.ovirt.engine.core.dao.ClusterDaoTest) Time elapsed: 9 sec <<< ERROR! java.lang.NullPointerException at org.ovirt.engine.core.dao.ClusterDaoImpl.getClusterParamSource(ClusterDaoImpl.java:255) at org.ovirt.engine.core.dao.ClusterDaoImpl.save(ClusterDaoImpl.java:136) at org.ovirt.engine.core.dao.ClusterDaoTest.testSave(ClusterDaoTest.java:318) ClusterDaoImpl.java:255 is .addValue("switch_type", cluster.getRequiredSwitchTypeForCluster().getOptionValue()); Seems like the the requiredSwitchType is not set for all tests and when trying to access the getOptionValue() we have a nullpointer exception. A Target release should state the version of the package you're building and should include the same version you used for the tag you just used for this build. [VDSM] New versioning scheme

Hi all, We are going to branch 4.0 today, and it is a good time to update our versioning scheme. I suggest to use the standard ovirt versioning, use by most projects: 1. master vdsm-4.19.0-201606011345.gitxxxyyy 2. 4.0 vdsm-4.18.1 The important invariant is that any build from master is considered newer compare with the stable builds, since master always contain all stable code, and new code. Second invariant, the most recent build from master is always newer compared with any other master build - the timestamp enforces this. Thoughts? Nir

[VDSM] Random network tests failing

Seems that random network test fail now in the ci. Did we change anything in the infrastructure that can explain this? Hi, In order to resolve bug [1] and prep [2], the default English text for I18N Constants and Messages have been moved to their corresponding properties files. Going forward, if a new constant or message needs to be added, please add the key method to the proper interface and then add the key plus English text to the interface's corresponding properties file. Checks will be added, in the next few days, to fail the build process if the GWT annotations (@DefaultStringValue, @DefaultMessage) are used. This change has been made to simplify the translation process [1] and to prepare for the replacement of the GWT i18n engine in 4.1 [2]. Interacting with VDSM storage without oVirt Engine

Hello all, Like the title says, I need to work with VDSM's storage layer without involving the engine. Presently, I'm testing this with NFS domains and have been able to use vdsClient to create, attach, and activate a new storage domain, but I have not been able to create a new image or volume. If I pass createVolume an existing image/storage domain UUID, the command still outputs a new UUID, but nothing changes under the images directory. Empty Dropdown Menus in Webadmin

Hi, Is anyone else experiencing empty dropdown menus in webadmin? I started having the problem after rebasing Friday afternoon. I rebased again this morning, but am still experiencing the same problem. I'm trying to determine whether this is something isolated to my environment, or a more widespread issue. I appreciate any advice any of you may be able to offer. Thanks! -Phillip Bailey
