[Users] Copy disks?
by noc
Hi All,
When in the top tab Disks and a disk is selected I can do Add, Remove,
Move but Copy is always greyed out, no matter what I try. Doesn't matter
if the disk is thin provisioned or not, whether it is attached to a VM
or not, whether the VM is running or not.
How does one copy a disk? Or when is that button active?

Joop

[Users] I accidentally the whole database. Or: Can I re-import a running vm into the engine-db?
by Sven Lankes
Hi,
I have a ovirt "cluster" with one manamgement node and a single
virtualization node.
After fiddling with the database manually, I had to restore a database
backup. The database backup was from a time when the host hat 7 virtual
machines - it now has 9.
So there are now two machines "missing" from the web-interface. They're
still running on the node itself but ovirt-engine keeps logging:
[org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.VdsUpdateRunTimeInfo] (DefaultQuartzScheduler_Worker-8) VDS::UpdateVmRunTimeInfo Error: found VM on a VDS that is not in the database!
Is there a way to "re-import" the machine into the database so it can
be managed from the web-interface again?

[Users] iSCSI and snapshots
by Juan Pablo Lorier
Hi,
I'm trying to understand how ovirt manages snapshots to start using them
for vm backups. I have my vms to use a iscsi LUN for the system (each
has its own) and I have no extra space to create an LVM snapshot in the
VM disk.
When I hit "create" in the vm snapshot tab, it creates the snapshot and
reports ok, but I see no info in the right pannel (disk, ram, etc) and
nothing is created in the data storage of the DC, so I don't get where
is ovirt storing the snapshot data.
Do I have to create an export storage domain?.

[Users] Fedora 18 and usb pass-through
by Ryan Wilkinson
I've noticed with Fedora 17 that usb devices plugged in after a spice
session is initiated automagically pass-through to the virtual desktop
without manually selecting them but not so with Fedora 18. They pass
through if you manually select them from the drop down bar. Any way to
make 18 work like 17??

[Users] oVirt @China
by Doron Fediuck
Hi everyone,
On our last visit to Shanghai we discovered there's no
access to YouTube, so oVirt users and developers in China
cannot see the cool video clips we have for oVirt.
To resolve that, we were able to open an account in YouKu
for oVirt, which will host the relevant video clips. I'm
happy to announce oVirt's YouKu page:
http://i.youku.com/theovirt
Feel free to share with your friends!
Here's how you can help:
- People who do not see their video clips there can
mail me and I'll upload it to YouKu.
- For new contents please contact me as well so I'll
upload it to YouKu.
Special thanks to Jimmy and the Intel team, who
helped me with this effort.
Looking forward to see more video clips,
Doron

[Users] mozilla-xpi for Ubuntu
by Mario Giammarco
Hello,
I need a working mozilla-xpi for Ubuntu 12.04 (and soon 12.10).
It is strange that an opensource project as ovirt is only working on Fedora.
Thanks in advance for any help.

[Users] How to make host ovirt on hetzner server
by Андрей Дядюра
This is a multipart message in MIME format.

Hello guys
About 7 days, I'm trying to make a host on Hetzner server.
vdsm installation is successful and the host server is rebooted
automaticaly. but then I lose the host, and I can access it either through
vKVM or reinstall the system via a control system of hetzner.
I have two main questions
1. Should I have second external IP address for the host (to set it in the
interface ovirtngnt)
2. Which setting (routed(brouted) or bridged) is correct for the host ovirt
configuration in the documentation
http://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/Netzkonfiguration_CentOS/en
my basic settings and tests:
ifconfig:
http://screenshot.su/show.php?img=c87b66737536c8f6cad47e684ce7d7aa.jpg
route -n:
http://screenshot.su/show.php?img=e0d5d2750b99f670a07b2d82b1295aaf.jpg
ping default gateway:
http://screenshot.su/show.php?img=ef1b0037179f3d4da6b25bbf16652a10.jpg
It seems to me that the problem is related to a MAC address (specific
Hetzner)
On other servers when I used VMWare server optional external IP is never
required. But when I used the ESXi it will not work without additional
external IP address with a separate MAC address where you configure the
router-vm (about this: http://wiki.hetzner.de/index.php/VMware_ESXi/en )
Thank you for any help.
Regards, Andrey

[Users] engine-iso-uploader error

Hi guys,
I'm running the following RPM versions from the dreyou repo and I've
recently upgraded my engine to 3.2.1 and when I try uploading I was
getting...
ERROR: [ERROR]::key_file, cert_file, ca_file must be specified for SSL

I googled around and found lots of posts relating to packages needing
to be upgraded, so I upgraded the following...
