HostedEngine disk size not updated after manually extending it

Hi *, I extended the disk of the hosted engine VM with "vdsm-client" (since it is not possible using the GUI) as follows: 0. login via ssh to host 1. set hosted engine maintenance mode to global 2. shut down vm 3. extend the disk (vdsm-client Volume extendSize ...) 4. start vm 5. set maintenance to none This worked. The VM has now a larger disk and the metadata on the storage domain show the new value (vdsm-client Volume getInfo ... too) Unfortunetaly the virtual size of the disk shown in the oVirt GUI is still the old value. How can I get the engine to update those values? Regards, Ulrich

Failed to synchronize networks of Provider ovirt-provider-ovn

Hi, After upgrading to 4.2.1 I have problems with ovn provider. I'm getting "Failed to synchronize networks of Provider ovirt-provider-ovn." I use custom SSL certificate in apache and I guess this is the reason. I've tried to update ovirt-provider-ovn.conf with [OVIRT] #ovirt-ca-file=/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/ca.pem ovirt-ca-file=/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/apache-ca.pem but still no go Any tips on this? thanks G

Gluster Issues

Hi, we are seeing some issues where our hosts oom kill glusterd after a while but there's plenty of memory? Running Centos 7,4.x and Ovirt 4.2.x

I suggest to also open a bug and attach all relevant logs (engine, vdsm from all relevant hosts, including SPMs at time of snapshot operations and any other host that ran the VM), and try to give accurate reproduction steps. oVirt + gluster with JBOD

Hi! I am thinking about using some spare servers I have for a hyperconverged oVirt + gluster. Only problem with these servers is that the RAID card is not specially good, so I am considering using gluster in a JBOD configuration. JBOD is supported for recent versions of gluster, but I am not sure if this configuration is supported by oVirt, or if there are any special considerations I should take into account. Anyone running oVirt + gluster with JBOD who can comment on this? Thanks! -- Eduardo Mayoral.

OVIRT 4.2.6: Deploying Errors + Official Repository Problems

Hi all, We are trying to install the new release of OVIRT 4.2.6 on freshly installed machines based on RHEL 7.5. First of all, we encountered a strange error when install the ovirt-release42 package, it adds the necessary public repositories on /etc/yum.repos.d/, but after do that, sometimes when we try to update or install the other required packages we saw: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: ovirt-4.2/$releasever Why cannot configure this path variable automatically or what can influence to obtain this problem? In the other hand, when the repos sometimes are well configured and we can install the packages correctly, we found other problems related to the deploy of the ovirt-engine (OVA appliance based). Gluster deployment - Arbiter volume - different disk size - volumes sizes

Hello, I have one more question for the gluster deployment. I have three servers with different disk sizes : - server1 : 3 x SSD configured in raid 5 mode for a total capacity of 900 GB - server2 : 6 x SSD configurerd in raid 6 mode for a total capacity of 2,2 TB - server3 : same as server2 (2,2TB) Because my server1 has less capacity than the others I will use it as an arbiter volume (during the deployment I will declare it as the last host : host3). Is-it correct ? So I will create 4 volumes : - engine : 50 GB type replicated without arbiter - data : ?? - vmstore : ??? - iso : 15 GB replicated with arbiter volume Can someone tell me what are the differences between data and vmstore volume ? In the earlier version there was only information about data volume and export volume. I found nothing about vmstore volume. If the wmstore is, as its name suggests, the place where all vm files will be stored including vm disks images, I think I have to set most of the capacity for this volume. So at the end my 4 volumes will be : - engine : 50 GB type replicated without arbiter - data : 500 TB replicated with arbiter volume - vmstore : 1,5 TB replicated with arbiter volume - iso : 15 GB replicated with arbiter volume What do you think of this ?
