oVirt 4.3 ssh passwordless setup guide

Hello, Does anyone have a guide or how to on setting up oVirt with passwordless ssh setup? I want to do this with a production environment to improve security but I have never done this before and want to build a test environment to try it out. Best regards, Roy Morris

Upgrade from 4.3 to 4.4 fails with db or user ovirt_engine_history already exists

Currently, our upgrade to 4.4 fails with error: FATAL: Existing database 'ovirt_engine_history' or user 'ovirt_engine_history' found and temporary ones created We have upgraded the running 4.3 installation to the latest version and also use the latest packages for the upgrade on the new CentOS 8.2 installation. The back-up is made following the Hosted Engine upgrade steps in the manual, using: `engine-backup --scope=all --mode=backup --file=backup.bck --log=backuplog.log` The upgrade is performed after copying the backup.bck file to the new server and using `hosted-engine --deploy --restore-from-file=backup.bck` After creating the Engine VM, the installation process hangs when the backup is restored. We tried it several times, using a complete or a partial back-up. Old/current oVirt version: 4.3.10.4-1.el7 New version: 4.4.1.8 ovirt-ansible-hosted-engine-setup: 1.1.6 Did anyone get the same error while upgrading an existing installation? Thanks! oVirt 4.4 Engine data migration & GUI notes

Hi ! I have installed new oVirt 4.4 Engine (as separate entity, not hosted engine) and migrated data from old 4.3 installation. Everything went smooth. Q: Which PostgreSQL password now active - new one I entered during install or old which could migrate with old data? I noticed GUI changes straight on dashboard. Icons on top (data centres, clusters, hosts, etc) are simply put, too huge. This serves no useful purpose whatsoever, and consumes screen real estate for no reason. Decreasing their size by 2/3 will help to make 1st page more informative at 1st sight without extra scrolling. with best regards Andrei

Hello, I'm importing a VM into a new oVirt environment that is in 4.3.10: the new host is the same as the previous one (only difference it is in 4.3.10 while the old one in 4.3.9). This VM acted as a single host HCI environment (with 4.3.9). I imported the storage domain containing the VM and its disks and the VM boots ok. Now its Hosted Engine VM (that is so a nested VM) doesn't start. oVirt Network problem.

Hello, I am new to oVirt. I have a problem and I don't know how to deal with it, i added another network besides the management network and after that the node did not respond to the oVIrt manager. I had to change the DNS to the new IP of the new network so that oVIrt manager can manage it. Now i have an error: Out-of-sync: Default route: host true, DC false. I checked on the node and the second network has DEFROUTE=NO and the management network to yes. I don't know why the manager is seeing that. Also the management IP does not respond to ping or anything. Please some advice for a newbie? The setup is: A standalone server with Centos7 and oVIrt manager installed and a node with ovirt node os. Reinstall failed on 4.4.1.1 with custom kernel settings

Hi, after the upgrade from 4.4.1 to 4.4.1.1, it seems that I cannot reinstall adding custom kernel settings. In my case, I'm trying to add "ixgbe.allow_unsupported_sfp=1" to cmdline but reinstall process fails without showing any relevant error in /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log. I did the same test on version 4.4.1 and it works without problems. On version 4.4.1 I tried to (1) add a parameter with reinstall, (2) add a second parameter and reinstall, (3) remove all params and reinstall and (4) finally add only one custom param with reinstall. All tests are ok on version 4.4.1 and the problem happens only on version 4.4.1.1. Please, have you some idea on how to solve the issue? Is this a bug? Thank you, Marco

I've exported a VM as OVA and now I'm trying to import it in another Data Center (it's like a DR Data Center) Import runs successfully both from GUI and from Ansible, but imported VM disks are empty and the VM fails to boot. (One thing more in my case, the standalone Manager needs to be installed on EL8 and not like documents says on EL7. With EL7 load is gives an error that Engine for EL7 is not avaiable. Hi all, in our environment, CentOS7 and RHEL7 for the most part (Ovirt 4.3 and RHV 4.3), we are able to set a proxy directly in /etc/yum.conf (or on the single repo) to momentarily bypass some network restrictions. The proxy settings looks like this: proxy=http://our-proxy.domain:8080 proxy_username=user proxy_password=password But is also works properly when it is set directly from CLI, and this is the one we use more often: export http_proxy=http://user:password@our-proxy.domain:8080 export https_proxy=https://user:password@our-proxy.domain:8080 We are having difficulties to set the same proxy on CentOS8 / Ovirt 4.4.x. There is no way the proxy settings allows us to run "yum update". Good morning, i have installed a new ovirt 4.3.10 enviroment but sometimes on the events of some hosts i read this error message: VDSM node-1-ra command Get Host Capabilities failed: Message timeout which can be caused by communication issues Due to this issue hosts are in unresponsive state and the only way to resolve this is and activate host in the cluster, is to restart the ovirt engine service. I'm reading through all of the documentation at https://ovirt.org/documentation/, and am a bit overwhelmed with all of the different options for installing oVirt. My particular use case is that I'm looking for a way to manage VMs on multiple physical servers from 1 interface, and be able to deploy new VMs (or delete VMs) as necessary. Ideally, it would be great if I could move a VM from 1 host to a different host as well, particularly in the event that 1 host becomes degraded (bad HDD, bad processor, etc...) I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between an oVirt Node and the oVirt Engine, and how the engine differs from the Manager. I get the feeling that `Engine` = `Manager`. Same thing. I further think I understand the Engine to be essentially synonymous with a vCenter VM for ESXi hosts. Is this correct? If so, then what's the difference between the `self-hosted` vs the `stand-alone` engines? oVirt Engine requirements look to be a minimum of 4GB RAM and 2CPUs. oVirt Nodes, on the other hand, require only 2GB RAM. Is this a requirement just for the physical host, or is that how much RAM that each oVirt node process requires? In other words, if I have a physical host with 12GB of physical RAM, will I only be able to allocate 10GB of that to guest VMs? How much of that should I dedicated to the oVirt node processes? Can you install the oVirt Engine as a VM onto an existing oVirt Node? And then connect that same node to the Engine, once the Engine is installed? Reading through the documentation, it also sounds like oVirt Engine and oVirt Node require different versions of RHEL or CentOS. I read that the Engine for oVirt 4.4.0 requires RHEL (or CentOS) 8.2, whereas each Node requires 7.x (although I'll plan to just use the oVirt Node ISO). I'm also wondering about storage. I don't really like the idea of using local storage, but a single NFS server would also be a single point of failure, and Gluster would be too expensive to deploy, so at this point, I'm leaning towards using local storage. On env1 I have hosted_storage and data on a disk, and vmstore on a whole different disk. I also have a "big2" gluster storage domain created in another disk in a second time. Strange SD problem

HI, I'm having a strange behavior with a SD. When trying to manage the SD I see they "Add" button for the LUN which should already be the one use for that SD. Hello, today I wanted to test a single host hci install using ovirt-node-ng-installer-4.4.1-2020071311.el8.iso On this same environment 4.4.0 gui wizard worked ok, apart a final problem with cpu flags and final engine boot up, so I wanted to verify if all is ok now, because that problem should have been fixed But I incurred in the same problems recently discussed here: https://lists.ovirt.org/archives/list/users@ovirt.org/message/3AARZD4VBNNHW… The first part failed because of TASK [gluster.infra/roles/backend_setup : Change to Install lvm tools for RHEL systems.] *** fatal: [novirt2st.storage.local]: FAILED! => {"changed": false, "msg": "The Python 2 yum module is needed for this module. Deployment is only to three as JBOD, 1 drive per node per volume (engine, data, vmstore) utilizing VDO. Thus, deploying even a 100G volume to 1.6TB drive fails with "insufficient free space" error. I suspect this might have to do with the Ansible playbook deploying Gluster mishandling the logical volume creation due to the rounding error as described here: https://access.redhat.com/documentation/en-us/red_hat_enterprise_linux/6/ht… If I can provide any additional information, logs, etc. please ask. Hello, Thanks to previous answers, I was able to make backups. Unfortunately, we had some infrastructure issues and after the host reboots new problems appeared. I am not able to do any backup using the commands that worked yesterday. Engine deployment fails with engine booting to grub rescue

After working through some DNS problems I was able to install oVirt 4.4.1.1 and progress the engine deployment stops within the ansible scripts. The system deploys the gluster domain, creates the engine, starts the engine, however it will never fully boot and complete the deployment. Bringing up the console of the engine sets it into rescue mode. I have attempted to set the appropriate variables in grub rescue set root=(hd0,msdos1) set prefix=(hd0,msdos1)/boot/grub insmod normal And this will not boot the engine. Is there a procedure to mount a CENTOS 8 rescue CD/ISO to troubleshoot this or is there a specific fix published for this problem? The specific error I am seeing in the Engine Console is "attempt to read outside of HD0. I upgraded the ovirt engine appliance package to ovirt-engine-appliance-4.4-20200716090128.1.el8.x86_64 which produces the same result. I have gotten this error deploying on both my Intel and AMD based servers. any help is appreciated. thanks Andy

ovirt-node-ng-image-update 4.4.1 to 4.4.1.1

All, I applied the recent update 4.4.1 -> 4.4.1.1 to a host in a cluster and it failed. After reboot it was hund at the emergency console. I reinstalled 4.4.1 fresh on the host. Prior to adding it back to the cluster I applied the same update with the same result. Is this just a bad update or is the post install script bad. Thanks, David.

mixed hyperconverged?

I'm thinking of doing an SSD based hyperconverged setup (for 4.3), but am wondering about certain design issues. seems like the optimal number is 3 nodes for the glusterfs. but.. I want 5 host nodes, not 3 and I want the main storage for VMs to be separate iSCSI NAS boxes. Is it possible to have 3 nodes be the hyperconverged stuff.. but then add in 2 "regular" nodes, that dont store anything and arent part of the cluster? is it required to be part of the gluster cluster, to also be part of the ovirt cluster, if thats where the hosted-engine lives? or can I just have the hosted engine be switchable between the 3 nodes, and the other 2 be VM-only hosts? Any recommendations here? I dont what 5 way replication going on. Nor do I want to have to pay for large SSDs on all my host nodes. Ovirt 4.4.1 Install failure at OVF_Store check

I am trying to freshly install oVirt 4.4.1 with HCI on CentOS 8.2. I am using the "hosted-engine --deploy" script and the installation fails at "Check the OVF Store" consistently. I did try to apply the fix loaded on Jenkins (https://jenkins.ovirt.org/job/ovirt-hosted-engine-setup_standard-check-patc…) which produced the same result. Any help is appreciated and I ma working to attached the install log. Thanks Andy

What permission do I need to get API access

We use LDAP authentication to login to ovirt cluster, actually, admin and another user account have to access API with no problem. My account does cannot access to API despite that had SuperUser privileges than those accounts that already access API. Every time I tried to access API I get next message: Error during SSO authentication access_denied: Cannot authenticate user 'diagsbuilder(a)ralntdom.rtptgcs.com': No valid profile found in credentials.. The account does exist and permissions to enter to portal vms What do need to do to grant access to API?

Hello, isn't there an official major/minor numbering scheme for virtio disks? Sometimes I see 251 major or 252 or so... what is the udev assignment logic? Reading here: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/admin-guide/devices.txt 240-254 block LOCAL/EXPERIMENTAL USE Allocated for local/experimental use. For devices not assigned official numbers, these ranges should be used in order to avoid conflicting with future assignments. it seems they are in the range of experimental ones, while for example Xen /dev/xvdx devices have their own static assignment (202 major) Thanks, Gianluca

I find it odd that the ovirt website allows to see older version RELEASE NOTES... but doesnt seem to give links to general documentation for older versions. Hi, I've searched to no avail: is it possible to use video virtio (instead of qxl) in a VM managed by oVirt? I have much better performance with video virtio when testing this with "plain" libvirt. I would have at least expected to find some feature request or something alike when searching. Does anybody know anything about this being on some ToDo list? Or has this really escaped everybody's notice? - Michael

Admin portal will not load after installing updates

Failed to upload ISO oVirt 4.4.0 - imageio unable to verify certificate

I have changed the Engine SSL certificate with our own certificates (using FreeIPA), i have followed the procedure described in the documents carefully and it is indeed working well. I haven now tried to upload an ISO and it fails, using "test connection" says the connection to the imageio service is ok, but when the upload starts it fails. Lots of problems with deploying the hosted-engine (ovirt 4.4 | CentOS 8.2.2004)

Hi! I have banged my head against deploying the ovirt 4.4 self-hosted engine on Centos 8.2 for last couple of days. First I was astonished that resources.ovirt.org has no IPv6 connectivity, which made my initial plan for a mostly IPv6-only deployment impossible. CentOS was installed from scratch using the ks.cgf Kickstart file below, which also adds the ovirt 4.4 repo and installs cockpit-ovirt-dashboard & ovirt-engine-appliance. When deploying the hosted-engine from cockpit while logged in as a non-root (although privileged) user, the "(3) Prepare VM" step instantly fails with a nondescript error message and without generating any logs. By using the browser dev tools it was determined that this was because the ansible vars file could not be created as the non-root user did not have write permissions in '/var/lib/ovirt-hosted-engine-setup/cockpit/' . Shouldn't cockpit be capable of using sudo when appropriate, or at least give a more descriptive error message? After login into cockpit as root, or when using the command line ovirt-hosted-engine-setup tool, the deployment fails with "Failed to download metadata for repo 'AppStream'". This seems to be because a) the dnsmasq running on the host does not forward dns queries, even though the host itself can resolve dns queries just fine, and b) there also does not seem to be any functioning routing setup to reach anything outside the host. Regarding a) it is strange that dnsmasq is running with a config file '/var/lib/libvirt/dnsmasq/default.conf' containing the 'no-resolv' option. Could the operation of systemd-resolved be interfering with dnsmasq (see ss -tulpen output)? I tried to manually stop systemd-resolved, but got the same behaviour as before. I hope someone could give me a hint how I could get past this problem, as so far my ovirt experience has been a little bit sub-par. :D Also when running ovirt-hosted-engine-cleanup, the extracted engine VMs in /var/tmp/localvm* are not removed, leading to a "disk-memory-leak" with subsequent runs. Hello everybody, at to moment I run ovirt engine in a VM on a different server (no hosted engine) and I have two hosts. One is only a backup and is not running. I would like to install a new ovirt engine 4.4 VM and use the backup host. And if this is running fine in some month I would migrate the second host to 4.4. The Problem is only that I have to upgrade the data center compatibly mode to 4.4 and with that I'm a bit afraid. Is it possible, to downgrade the compatibility mode, when something unsuspected is happen? The original 4.3 engine VM I would like to have untouched, that I can go back if is necessary. Not able to asign IB network to IB Bond

Hi all, We are using oBirt since 4.2. Config is 1Gb or 10G for VM ext network and 40Gb IB for Starage and VM Migration. Metrics in Kibana not working

Trying to use the provided visualizations/Dashboards for ovirt metrics in Kibana. Using ovirt 4.3.7, with ovirt-engine-metrics 1.3.7-1 and latest rsylog-8.24.0-52 and collectd-5.10.0-2 I am receiving data in indexes and some fields are present. Is there a way to access VM data that is stored using iscsi block storage outside of the ovirt platform ?

We have had problems trying to get our broken hosted engine to work. The datastore for all the VM's was stored in an iscsi storage that was deactivated before the platform went down, I am now looking for a way to access this data and start the VM's outside of a running hosted-engine Can I build an new ovirt standalone engine on a new bare metal remote server and connect to the hosts and start up the domain ? I would be interested in your thoughts. The problem with rebuilding the hosted-engine is that it cannot reuse the lun dedicated for the hosted-engine. I have tried to rebuild using NFS but it complains about not seeing the master domain thanks Kevin

Weird problem starting VMs in oVirt-4.4

Hi All, Just had a rather new experience in that starting a VM worked but the kernel entered grub2 rescue console due to the fact that something was wrong with its virtio-scsi disk. The message is Booting from Hard Disk .... error: ../../grub-core/kern/dl.c:266:invalid arch-independent ELF maginc. entering rescue mode... Doing a CTRL-ALT-Del through the spice console let the VM boot correctly. Shutting it down and repeating the procedure I get a disk problem everytime. Weird thing is if I activate the BootMenu and then straight away start the VM all is OK. I don't see any ERROR messages in either vdsm.log, engine.log If I would have to guess it looks like the disk image isn't connected yet when the VM boots but thats weird isn't it? Regards, Joop

Problem with backuping ovirt 4.4 with SDK

Hello, I am trying to do full backup on ovirt 4.4 using sdk. I used steps from this youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2VWUVcycj4 and I got error after running backup_vm.py. I see that sdk has imported disks and created backup entity and then I got sdk.NotFoundError exception. I also tried to do full backup with API and after finalizing backup disappeared (I think) and I couldn't try incremental. oVirt 4.3 -> 4.4 Upgrade Path Questions

Hi ! I have 2-node oVirt 4.3 installation, with engine running as KVM guest on SuSE file server (not hosted engine). Nodes are manually installed on CentOS 7.x (further referred as old node #1 and #2). I’m going to add 1 additional node, and migrate system to CentOS 8.2 / oVirt 4.4. Is this correct roadmap, or something can be done in a better way? Here is my plan. 1) Upgrade oVirt Hosted Engine running under KVM / SuSE file server to CentOS 8.2 / oVirt 4.4. Or its better to install from scratch new CentOS 8.2/oVirt 4.4 and migrate database? 2) Install CentOS 8.2 and oVirt node 4.4 on new server (let’s name it node #3). 3) Migrate virtual machines from old node #1 to the new (#3). 4) Upgrade CentOS on old node #1 to v8.2, and oVirt from web interface. Will that work, or upgrade CentOS 7 -> 8 will render this process unmanageable due to removal of many components? 5) Migrate back virtual machines from node #3 to newly upgraded node #1. 6) Repeat step 4 and 5 for old node #2. rhv 4.3.9 - snapshots fail

Hi, I think we ran into this bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1802277 and https://access.redhat.com/solutions/5174961 as we have exactly that problems and log-entries. As there are now several VMs that cannot create (or delete) snapshots accordingly we cannot do backups on that VMs. Are there any suggestions or workarounds in order that we can still backup them up? Hosted engine can't start after changing cluster settings

I changed the BIOS Type settings in the cluster settings section to UEFI BIOS, and hosted-engine does not start after rebooting. Although, before I made the changes, I looked in the engine at the /boot partition, which has the /efi directory. Is there any way to change the engine settings manually, and how can I connect to it (or to its partitions) to perform actions? I can't imagine how you can reinstall the engine without unplugging storage to import all virtual machines later. Losing data in virtual machines is a disaster for me.

Ovirt 4.3.10 Glusterfs SSD slow performance over 10GE

Hello all, I am using Ovirt 4.3.10 on Centos 7.8 with glusterfs 6.9 . My Gluster setup is of 3 hosts in replica 3 (2 hosts + 1 arbiter). All the 3 hosts are Dell R720 with Perc Raid Controller H710 mini(that has maximim throughtout 6Gbs) and with 2×1TB samsumg SSD in RAID 0. The volume is partitioned using LVM thin provision and formated XFS. The hosts have separate 10GE network cards for storage traffic. The Gluster Network is connected to this 10GE network cards and is mounted using Fuse Glusterfs(NFS is disabled).Also Migration Network is activated on the same storage network. The problem is that the 10GE network is not used at full potential by the Gluster. If i do live Migration of Vms i can see speeds of 7GB/s ~ 9GB/s. The same network tests using iperf3 reported 9.9GB/s , these exluding the network setup as a bottleneck(i will not paste all the iperf3 tests here for now). I did not enable all the Volume options from "Optimize for Virt Store", because of the bug that cant set volume cluster.granural-heal to enable(this was fixed in vdsm-4 40, but that is working only on Centos 8 with ovirt 4.4 ) . i whould be happy to know what are all these "Optimize for Virt Store" options, so i can set them manually. The speed on the disk inside the host using dd is b etween 1GB/s to 700Mbs. [root@host1 ~]# dd if=/dev/zero of=test bs=100M count=40 cou nt=80 status=progress 8074035200 bytes (8.1 GB) copied, 11.059372 s, 730 MB/s 80+0 records in 80+0 records out 8388608000 bytes (8.4 GB) copied, 11.9928 s, 699 MB/s The dd write test on the gluster volme inside the host is poor only ~ 120MB/s . During the dd test, if i look at Networks->Gluster network ->Hosts at Tx and Rx the network speed barerly reaches over 1Gbs (~1073 Mbs) out of maximum of 10000 Mbs. dd if=/dev/zero of=/rhev/data-center/mnt/glu sterSD/gluster1.domain.local\:_data/test bs=100M count=80 status=progress 8283750400 bytes (8.3 GB) copied, 71.297942 s, 116 MB/s 80+0 records in 80+0 records out 8388608000 bytes (8.4 GB) copied, 71.9545 s, 117 MB/s I have attached my Gluster volume settings and mount options. Running Self Hosted-Engine on the same iSCSI target as other Storage Domains

We are using Dell SC (Storage) with iSCSI with oVirt, it is impossible to create a new Target Portal with a specific LUN so it's impossible to isolate the SE LUN from other LUNs that are in use by other Storage Domains. According to the documentations this is not a best practice, while searching i ran into that specific issue but it seems to be solved. Is it still by best practice when using oVirt 4.4 to use a whole different target for the SE? If it is not possible giving the current envrionment restrictions is the only option for us is to attach a few disks to each servers and create a small gluster cluster (volume) just for the SE?

oVirt 4.4.0, slave interfaces are down after a reboot

Fresh installation of oVirt 4.4.0 (using the ISO), after restarting an host, the host comes up but the slave interfaces of a bond remains in down state. The only way to bring it up is to login via IPMI and restart the "NetworkManager" service. Weird thing, after this, the host says that it's network is out of sync, this happens on a network that is marked as "migration network", what is out of sync is the gateway. I have restart the host again (this happens on all hosts) and i can see that after a restart the NetworkManager state (nmcli c show bond0.421 as example) does not list the routes, after syncing the routes are there.

iSCSI array "Storage domain does not exist" error after array reboot

I am running a hosted engine using iscsi. I had to reboot the array, I took down all the VM's and put the VM data storage into maintenance mode. I also put the hosted engine "hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode =global" and shut down the engine "hosted-engine --vm-shutdown" I also stopped the broker and agent systemctl stop ovirt-ha-broker' ; 'systemctl stop ovirt-ha-agent' The array was rebooted. How to use sysprep to create Windows templates

Hi, I need to create some Windows Templates for my client, and I am not quite familiar with the Windows sysprep installations. I read the "Sealing a Windows Virtual Machine for Deployment as a Template" on the Virtual Machine Management Guide. What I don't understand is the process of sealing a Windows VM. When should I use the /usr/share/ovirt-engine/conf/sysprep/sysprep.* files? at the creation of the VM that will be a template at the end? or at the creation of new VMs based on the template? When should I use the /etc/ovirt-engine/osinfo.conf.d/xx.files.properties? at the creation of the VM that will be a template at the end? or at the creation of new VMs based on the template? What is the difference between : "Use Cloud-Init/Sysprep" in the VM edit window and the RUN Once window? For me it is not clear, could someone help me to understand. Regards.

oVirt-node 4.4.0 - Hosted engine deployment fails when host is unable to download updates

Hi, fresh installation of oVirt-node 4.4.0 on a cluster -- the hosted-engine --deploy command fails if DNF is unable to download updates. This cluster is not connected to the public network at the moment. If I use a proxy (setting the relevant env. variables) it fails at a later stage (I think the engine VM is trying to download updates as well, but encounters the same issue and doesn't seem to use the proxy). New fenceType in oVirt code for IBM OpenBMC

Hello, After some days scratching my head I found that oVirt is probably missing fenceTypes for IBM’s implementation of OpenBMC in the Power Management section. The host machine is an OpenPOWER AC922 (ppc64le). The BMC basically is an “ipmilan” device but the ciphers must be defined as 3 or 17 by default: [root@h01 ~]# ipmitool -I lanplus -H 10.20.10.2 root -P 0penBmc -L operator -C 3 channel getciphers ipmi ID IANA Auth Alg Integrity Alg Confidentiality Alg 3 N/A hmac_sha1 hmac_sha1_96 aes_cbc_128 17 N/A hmac_sha256 sha256_128 aes_cbc_128 The default ipmilan connector forces the option cipher=1 which breaks the communication. So I was reading the code and found this “fenceType” class, but I wasn't able to found where to define those classes. So I can create another one called something like openbmc to set cipher=17 by default. Another question is how bad the output is, it only returns a JSON-RPC generic error. I would recommend you to try to logrotate it. I had similar issue with corrupted logrotate state file which led to vdsm growing to 20GB You can also use 'truncate -s 0 your.log' to wipe without removing it. VMs shutdown mysteriously

Hello, All 4 VMs on one of my oVirt cluster node shutdown for an unknown reason almost simultaneously. Please help me to find the root cause. Thanks. Please note the host seems doing fine and never crash or hangs and I can migrate VMs back to it later. Some nodes periodically display as Non Responsive

Hi Everybody, I am got some strange things happening. I have got two data centers, DC1 and DC2, in DC1, some of my nodes (Not all the time and not all the nodes) go into a "not responding" state. I can still ping the hosts, and I can still access the VMs on the hosts. My Engine sits in DC2, and this does not happen to any of the hosts in DC2. It seems like the Engine loses connectivity to the hosts in DC1, and then cannot re-establish the connection. Is there anywhere I can check to get more insight into what is actually happening?
