Hello , I am having a Rhel6.2 machine over tht i have installed ovirt-sdk using following command : $ git clone http://gerrit.ovirt.org/ovirt-engine-sdk $ yum install -y rpm-build python-devel python-setuptools $ make rpm $ yum localinstall rpmtop/RPMS/noarch/ovirt-engine-sdk-x.y-z.noarch.rpm thn i have written python script rhevmtest.py : from ovirtsdk.api import API from ovirtsdk.xml import params import time rhevm_uri = "https://rhevm301.vmm.hp.com:8443/api" rhevm_username = "admin(a)rhevm301.vmm.hp.com" rhevm_password = "iso*help" rhevmAPI = API(url=rhevm_uri, username=rhevm_username, password=rhevm_password) print "Connected to RHEVM Successful" instances = rhevmAPI.vms.list() cluster = rhevmAPI.clusters.get(name='Default') template = rhevmAPI.templates.get(name='CentOS') param = params.VM(name= 'test_vm' ,cluster=cluster,template=template,memory=2147483648) vm6 = rhevmAPI.vms.add(param) and its working fine :) Now can give me some guidance to write script for following functions: • pause (Pause a running vm) • Unpause (UnPause a vm) • start (start a vm from shutdown state) • shutdown (shutdown a vm) • stop (Poweroff the vm) *. * snapshot/ create template (take snapshot of a vm) • live-migration (Migrates a running vm to a new machine) • resize (Resize a vm) • resize-confirm (Confirm a previous vm) • resize-revert Revert a previous resize (and return to the previousVM) Regards, Romil Gupta

[Users] Limit swap space on ovirt node install

Hi, We have a 16GB SSD in all our nodes to install the ovirt node image on. While installing I get the message there is not enough space. After checking the requirements of ovirt node it should fit quite easily, but I think the swap space assigned is too much as we have a lot of ram in the nodes. As we don't overcommit the RAM in our nodes we shouldn't need that much swap. Is there any way to modify it? I'd hate to have to buy new SSD's :-( -- Regards, Netbulae Jorick Astrego Netbulae B.V.

[Users] Making bonds in oVirt

Hi All, I'm slowly progressing with our test environment and currently I'm testing my 10Ge nics and switches and hit a snag. I watched the webcast about setting up a non-vm network which included creating a bond using the webinterface. I can't get it to work correctly. I have two problems - my ovirtmgmt network always returns to DHCP in Hosts/Network Interfaces/Setup Host Networks - bonding p3p1 and p3p2 into bond0 with mode 4 and assigning an ip address doesn't work either. The bond is created but no ip address assigned and I end up with errors in dmesg. On ST01 I just dropped the bond and restarted the node so I have a clean dmesg. On ST02 I repeated the bonding but no luck Host is now Non Responding because of missing network so put it into maintenance. In Setup Host Networks I create a bond between p3p1 and p3p2, bond name bond0 and mode 4, edit ovirtmgmt to set it to static instead of DHCP, ip address is correct. Assign my storage network to the bond, edit its properties and set its ip to Static 172.29.0.1 mask 255.255.255.0. The mouse over popups show the correct ip addresses for both storage and ovirtmgmt, check Save and Verify, press OK, no ip address on the bond :-(( ST02 dmesg: [43523.670576] bonding: unable to update mode of bond3 because it has slaves. [Users] ovirt & iscsi mulitpath

Dear all, After some problems I have my ovirt setup running now. But I run into a new problem with the network configuration. We have a quad nic with 4 gigabit connections over 2 switches (2X2) and an active/passive iscsi SAN. The first is connected to switch 1 and the second to switch 2 with a 10Gbe link. Now I would like to use iSCSI multipathing instead of bonding but I cannot use the same vlan for multiple storage networks and I cannot assign the same storage network to several nic's. I could use bonding, but we use 4 links over 2 switches and if I read everything correctly bonding only works through a single switch.
