Hello,
I have a small 2-node cluster setup running Glusterfs in replication mode :
CentOS v6.5
kernel-2.6.32-431.17.1.el6.x86_64
vdsm-4.14.6-0.el6.x86_64
ovirt-engine-3.4.0-1.el6.noarch (on 1 node)
Basically I was running ovirt-engine v 3.3 for months fine and then
upgraded to latest version of 3.3.X two days ago and could not join the
nodes to the cluster due to a version mismatch, basically this:
https://www.mail-archive.com/users@ovirt.org/msg17241.html . After trying
to correct this problem I ended up upgrading to 3.4 which created a new and
challenng problem for me. Every couple of hours I get error messages like
this:

This makes one of the nodes not be able to see the storage and all its VMs
will go into pause mode/stop. Wondering if you could provide some advice.
Thank you

Hi,
I'm taking a preview look at the 3.4.2 Release Notes. I see there is no
mention of Hosted.
Can we assume that means that the process for upgrading Hosted is the
same as for traditional deployments? We know that installation is quite
different...

So I understand that the news is still fresh and there may not be much
going on yet in making Ceph work with ovirt, but I thought I would reach
out and see if it was possible to hack them together and still use librdb
rather then NFS.
I know, why not just use Gluster... the problem is I have tried to use
Gluster for VM storage for years and I still don't think it is ready. Ceph
still has work in other areas, but this is one area where I think it
shines. This is a new lab cluster and I would like to try to use ceph over
gluster if possible.
Unless I am missing something, can anyone tell me they are happy with
Gluster as a backend image store? This will be a small 16 node 10 gig
cluster of shared compute / storage (yes I know people want to keep them
separate).

The oVirt development team is pleased to announce the general
availability of oVirt 3.4.2 as of Jun 10th 2014. This release
solidifies oVirt as a leading KVM management application and open
source alternative to VMware vSphere.
oVirt is available now for Fedora 19 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.5
(or similar).
This release of oVirt includes numerous bug fixes.
See the release notes [1] for a list of the new features and bugs fixed.
The existing repository ovirt-3.4 has been updated for delivering this
release without the need of enabling any other repository, however since we
introduced package signing you need an additional step in order to get
the public keys installed on your system if you're upgrading from an older release.
Please refer to release notes [1] for Installation / Upgrade instructions.
Please note that mirrors will need a couple of days before being synchronized.
If you want to be sure to use latest rpms and don't want to wait for the mirrors,
you can edit /etc/yum.repos.d/ovirt-3.4.repo commenting the mirror line and
removing the comment on baseurl line.
A new oVirt Node and oVirt Live ISO will be available soon[2].

Hi,
We're going to start composing oVirt 3.4.2 GA on *2014-06-10 08:00 UTC* from 3.4.2 branches.
The bug tracker [1] shows no blocking bugs for the release
There are still 56 bugs [2] targeted to 3.4.2.
Excluding node and documentation bugs we still have 27 bugs [3] targeted to 3.4.2.
Maintainers / Assignee:
- Please add the bugs to the tracker if you think that 3.4.2 should not be released without them fixed.
- Please update the target to any next release for bugs that won't be in 3.4.2:
it will ease gathering the blocking bugs for next releases.
Critical bugs will be re-targeted to 3.4.3 after 3.4.2 GA release.
All remaining bugs will be re-targeted to 3.5.0.
- Please fill release notes, the page has been created here [4]
- Please build packages before *2014-06-09 15:00 UTC*.
Community:
- If you're testing oVirt 3.4.2 RC, please add yourself to the test page [5]

I have the spice guest agent/tools installed, but I'm reading that I also
need to install/setup the ovirt-guest-agent to get proper reporting of
resources, etc. I'm following the instructions in
https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-guest-agent/blob/master/ovirt-guest-agent/RE…
I am confused at
"Update the AGENT_CONFIG global variable in OVirtGuestService.py to point to
right configuration location."
I can find the file without issue, the value I'm requested to change
has a default value of: AGENT_CONFIG = 'ovirt-guest-agent.ini'
I cannot locate a file named ovirt-guest-agent.ini within the
C:\ovirt-guest-agent-master\ovirt-guest-agent folder so I'm not sure
what to set this value to.

Dear all,
Dear Sean Cohen & Sandro Bonazzola,
I found your toturial about oVirt Self Hosted Engine from here, I have a=20
question about it. Would you help me?
http://www.ovirt.org/Features/Self=5FHosted=5FEngine
My problem is:
First, I am Following the tutorial, In machine 'Srv1', type these two=20
command to install oVirt Host & Engine:
# yum install ovirt-hosted-engine-setup
# hosted-engine --deploy
Then I success create a Engine, and I can use web browser to access the=20
Engine in other PC.
Then, in second machine 'Srv2', type these two command to install second=20
oVirt Host.
# yum install ovirt-hosted-engine-setup
# hosted-engine --deploy
My first problem is:
in second machine 'Srv2', after issue command 'hosted-engine --deploy',=20
and it prompt '[ INFO ] Waiting for VDSM hardware info'. System will ask=20
me and wait my input for (1. Setup finish, 2. Restart VM, 3. Exit). I=20
don't know what should I do now.
My second problem is:
I use another PC web browser connect to my oVirt Engine, and ask Engine to =
add Host 'Srv2' into Cluster. It is done and successful. But when I try to =
keep 'Srv2' is running, and make 'Srv1' to reboot. I found that I cannot=20
connect to oVirt Engine anymore. I try to type 'hosted-engine --vm-start'=20
in first machine 'Srv1', but it has error and cannot start my Engine=20
virtual machine. Therefore, I cannot connect to my Engine anymore. How=20
should I do now?
My three question is:
How to make my Engine become HA? Since when 'Srv1' reboot, the Engine=20
cannot jump to 'Srv2' automatically.
Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Kevin Tang

Hello all=2C
I have noticed that when I create a VM from a template the disks of the VM =
have the name of the Templates's disk.
What I would like is to be able to rename the VM's disks based on the hostn=
ame.
For example the template I use have the following disk names:
VM_Template_Disk1VM_Template_Disk2VM_Template_Disk3
When I create a new VM (e.g. testvm01) the disk names remain the same. What=
I would like is to be able to rename them automatically as below:
testvm01_Disk1testvm01_Disk2testvm01_Disk3
At the moment I'm editing the names manually using the oVirt GUI.
Is it possible to do this automatically?
Thanks=2C
