hey, am trying to display the contents of a text file in a java applet as a
ui plugin in ovirt.
The same applet performs successfully when run as a standalone, but fails
to deliver when the it is run through ovirt.
any plausible explanation?

[Users] Instructions to add a remote controlled power strip not in the native list?

We use Raritan / Dominion PX remote power blocks, is there a way to easily
add support for these?
On a feature request side, seems like adding support for generic wouldn't
be too hard; just ask for what the login/password prompts look like, what
the main prompt is, and the command sequence to turn on and off a port as
well as logout.

Hi all=2C
I'm trying to automate as much as possible of ovirt-hosted-engine-setup and=
engine-setup by means of otopi answer files passed in using "--config-appe=
nd=3Dfilename.conf".
I succeded in forcing engine-setup to leave my iptables settings alone with=
:
OVESETUP_CONFIG/firewallManager=3Dstr:iptables
OVESETUP_CONFIG/updateFirewall=3Dbool:False
but ovirt-hosted-engine-setup still modified my iptables settings even with=
the following options:
OVEHOSTED_NETWORK/firewallManager=3Dstr:iptables
OVEHOSTED_NETWORK/iptablesEnable=3Dbool:False
Maybe I used the wrong option (deduced by looking inside source code).
Does anybody have any hint/suggestion?

[Users] hosted engine setup (NFS)

Hi,
I installed hosted engine and faced an issue with NFS during installation.
First of all, I'm using GlusterFS on my storage and ovirt engine doesn't
support GlusterFS yet, only NFS.
But for NFS I can't use mountprotpo=tcp as hosted-engine --setup doesn't
ask for NFS options.
So I manually edited the following file:
/usr/share/ovirt-hosted-engine-setup/plugins/ovirt-hosted-engine-setup/storage/storage.py
and changed opts.append('vers=3'):
if domain_type == 'nfs3':
fstype = 'nfs'
opts.append('vers=3,mountproto=tcp')
My question is now: is it possible to ask for NFS options during setup
or do you think this can lead into problems? NFS via TCP worked fine for
me for one week until I rebooted the host today (did reboot tests last
weeks, too which was fine) and can't start hosted engine anymore (see
other mail thread), but I think the other issue is not NFS mountproto
related.

[Users] using cloud-init?

Hi all --
I've been trying, without success, to use cloud-init w/ oVirt 3.4 on Fedora
19 hosts. I've had similar failure in the past, but here are the steps I'm
taking currently:
1. Import as template F19 image from ovirt-image-repository glance repo
2. Create new vm based on that template
3. Choose ovirtmgmt as the nic1 for the VM
4. Show advanced options, click initial run, expand authentication, enter
a root password, paste my public key into the allowed ssh keys field
5. Hit OK, and then run the VM
6. In the VM's console, I see it complain about No instance datasource found
7. Unsurprisingly, I can't log in w/ pw or ssh.
(By the way, are there any default creds for these images? I thought they might
be based on the fedora cloud images, but their default uname fedora pw nothing
doesn't work)
I've tried some other derivations of this, launching from the Run Once menu,
filling in various different fields, etc.
Any clues?
I don't see many people complaining about this, so I'm assuming it's working
for other people. I don't know, maybe it's something with Fedora?

[Users] ovirt-guest-agent on debian?

Hi Guys
I was wondering wether anybody has the guest agent already working on
debian guests. In m previous install I had a working setup but currently
I only see Ubuntu packages.
When using these ubuntu packages I really run quite fast into trouble
due to the highly integrated nature of upstart in ubuntu.
Has anybody got a suggestion for a debian package?

Hi All,
I was doing google to see if i can set Hostname,Password & IP details for
Windows server from RHEV-M. I got to know that we can create VM Payload &
send that to Windows VM (installed with Cloud-init)

Cloud-init expects Meta-data & User-Data file to be sent either via Config
Drive or via HTTP. I'm trying to achive this via ConfigDrive (created using
VM Payload).
But i'm wondering what should be the format of this two files (Meta-data &
User-data). Have any1 tried this? If yes, would request to share sample
for both the files with setting Hostname, Password & IP details.
