findBugs fails on "org.ovirt.engine.ui.uicompat.UIConstants is too big for analysis"
by Yevgeny Zaspitsky 17 Aug '16

17 Aug '16

Looks like [1] has added the very last line that was over the findBugs limit of reasonable file size. Since that change was merged all consequence patches get -1 from CI. We should either ignore that message in the findBugs configuration or fix that somehow. But letting CI nack the patch, then figure what's the nature of the failure and then ignore the nack doesn't seem very productive to me. [1] https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/62386/

[vdsm][heads up] planned branches for Vdsm 4.0.3 and 4.0.4+
by Francesco Romani 16 Aug '16

16 Aug '16

Hi all, due to the need for the fix for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1364149 I created yesterday the branch 4.0.2. For 4.0.3: ---------- We will have another branch, should we need more fix. The fine details are yet to sort out, but the gist is that we *will* have that branch, so backports for 4.0.3 will require two 4.0.z patches: ---+-----------------[...]-> master | `-----------+-----> ovirt-4.0 |*- vdsm 4.18.10 | `---> ovirt-4.0.2 *- vdsm 4.18.11 For 4.0.4: ---------- We will resume our regular flow, 4.0.4 will be tagged from the ovirt-4.0 branch, so backport for 4.0.4 (and beyond) will require just one backport Merge to ovirt-4.0 for patches for 4.0.4 will resume this afternoon Thanks and bests, -- Francesco Romani RedHat Engineering Virtualization R & D Phone: 8261328 IRC: fromani

FYI, The run VM test is failing every few runs on the HE 4.0 system tests job [1], engine & hosts logs can be found here [2] Seems like engine is loosing connection to the DB? ovirt-engine stable branch maintainer needed
by Eyal Edri 15 Aug '16

15 Aug '16

Hi, If you have rights for ovirt-engine 4.0 please merge [1] as it fixes the latest regression caused on engine-setup. The fix was merged already for master and verified it works there. oVirt Bot and oVirt Meetings
by Sandro Bonazzola 14 Aug '16

14 Aug '16

Hi, is the oVirt Bot meant to be down? The oVIrt website still mention it: http://www.ovirt.org/community/about/meetings/ http://www.ovirt.org/develop/infra/ovirtbot/ http://www.ovirt.org/develop/infra/running-ovirtbot/ http://www.ovirt.org/develop/infra/infrastructure-team-meetings/ Are listed meetings still valid? I don't think so. http://www.ovirt.org/community/about/meetings/ -- Sandro Bonazzola Better technology. Faster innovation. Powered by community collaboration. See how it works at redhat.com

ovirt-shell in 4.0.1
by Paul Dyer 13 Aug '16

13 Aug '16

Hi, Is ovirt-engine-cil still funtional in ovirt 4.0.1? I have been able to use it to list VMs, but not for actions that require a name/id parameter. Here is what happens when I try to start a VM: $ ovirt-shell -f list-down-vms.txt ============================================ >>> connected to oVirt manager 4.0.1.0 <<< ============================================ [oVirt shell ( connected )]# list vms --kwargs "status-state=down" |grep name |sed s/'name *:'// rh6-dev12c-vm177 rh6-dev12c-vm178 rh6-dev12c-vm179 rh6-dev12c-vm180 rh6-dev12c-vm181 rh6-dev12c-vm182 rh6-dev12c-vm183 rh6-dev12c-vm184 rh6-dev12c-vm185 rh6-dev12c-vm186 rh6-dev12c-vm187 rh6-dev12c-vm188 rh6-dev12c-vm189 ========================================= >>> disconnected from oVirt manager <<< ========================================= $ ovirt-shell =========================================== >>> connected to oVirt manager 4.0.1.0 <<< =========================================== ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Welcome to oVirt shell ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ [oVirt shell (connected)]# action vm rh6-dev12c-vm189 start ========================= ERROR ================= vm rh6-dev12c-vm189 does not exist. ================================================= [oVirt shell (connected)]# $ rpm -q --provides ovirt-engine-cli ovirt-engine-cli = 3.6.8.0-1.el7.centos Thanks, Paul -- Paul Dyer, Mercury Consulting Group, RHCE 504-302-8750

Which GlusterFS for oVirt 4.1?
by Sandro Bonazzola 11 Aug '16

11 Aug '16

Hi, currently we're building and composing master (will become 4.1) assuming GlusterFS 3.7 will be used. I see that 3.8 is available in Fedora 24 and on CentOS Storage SIG. Is it time to move to 3.8 for 4.1? Thanks, -- Sandro Bonazzola Better technology. Faster innovation. Powered by community collaboration. See how it works at redhat.com

system tests failing
by Evgheni Dereveanchin 11 Aug '16

11 Aug '16

Hi everyone, We have the test-repo_ovirt_experimental_master job failing since build 717: http://jenkins.ovirt.org/job/test-repo_ovirt_experimental_master/717/ System tests are also starting to fail: http://jenkins.ovirt.org/job/ovirt_master_system-tests/380/ Here's the list of patches which appeared in build 717: https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/61384/ - Sandro Bonazzola - packaging: spec: drop default defattr https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/62026/ - Yaniv Bronhaim - Using %{_libdir} macro instead of /usr/lib https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/62028/ - Yaniv Bronhaim - Require python2-devel specifically to avoid python3 pkg https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/62049/ - Fabian Deutsch - Revert "imgbase: Drop journal support" https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/62050/ - Fabian Deutsch - cli: Add journal logging The error is related to secondary storage domain addition, it sounds like a known bug but now it seems to be triggered every time. I'm not sure how we can identify the source of the regression since these tests run on repos of already built RPMs, so the complete set has to be re-built with a specific patch and tested to find out the offending one. Regards, Evgheni Dereveanchin
