REST API tests failing sporadically

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------040906020901080705060505 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Patch d83d67ff715c0707b1715e09249532ca14c7e21a added a static Map that cached UriBuilders. This made the test "testGet" in "BackendHostNicLabelResourceTest" fail in some cases. Since JUnit test order is not deterministic some tests would wrongly use cached UriBuilders from previous tests and thus fail with the exception below. We've introduced patch 330d7aee596ad6ad8f6854eb73aeb75a3f67cd9e that reverted the original patch till a suitable solution will be found so if you encounter this failure you are encouraged to fetch it. Changed state to Down: Failed to open file (oVirt 3.5 + Gluster)

Hi: I removed a brick from a gluster volume via oVirt. The files were moved to another brick before commiting the brick removal. After that, some VMs are not starting. According to the logs, the disk image is not found: Changed state to Down: Failed to open file '/rhev/data-center/00000002-0002-0002-0002-000000000183/b55d0462-0dec-41a3-b0fd-6225fc5cf248/images/393a14c3-99df-4ffd-8ded-0705a22 d3304/dc9d4128-3172-4259-9923-54db19347fd2': No such file or directory (code=1) But the file is present on the gluster storage, which is mounted in /rhev/data-center/mnt/glusterSD/. What is this /rhev/data-center/00000002-0002-0002-0002-000000000183 directory for? And why is ovirt/libvirt trying to find the image on another location instead of the gluster mount? Thanks

[VDSM] about improved libvirt-python bindings

Hi, during my sampling overhaul effort I faced various times a mismatch between what the libvirt-python API offers for bulk stats and what VDSM needs. The return value of bulk stats is a something like [(dom1, {dict_of_bulk_stats1}), {dom2, {dict_of_bulk_stats2}), ...] While VDSM almost all the times really wants to use { dom_uuid_1: dict_of_bulk_stats_1, dom_uuid_2: dict_of_bulk_stats_2 } translation is trivial to be coded, but bulk stats retrieval is quite always in the hot path. Moreover, this is just wasteful. But in general, there will always be a not-perfect match from libvirt-python and VDSM needs. This is expected: libvirt-python needs to be more generic. So, I coded a Proof of Concept extension module which *complements* and not *replaces* the libvirt-python API. https://github.com/mojaves/libvirt-python-ovirt It monkeys-patch some APIs and replace them with VDSM-crafted ones. If we have enough of monkey patching, it is even easier to just add new APIs instead of replacing them. It was a nice and fun hack, but now, the question is: is that a concept worth developing further? Do we want to use and depend on this module? I believe that with such a buffer we can gain some agility with respect to libvirt plans and needs, and the maintainership cost _seems_ fairly low.
